51st edition of International Film Festival of India postponed

The 51st Edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) scheduled to be held at Goa from November 20th to 28th this year has been postponed to January next year. 

The decision has been arrived at after the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar discussed the issue with Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, according to an official release issued today. 

It has also been jointly decided to hold the festival from January 16th to 24th next year at Goa as per the International Film Festival guidelines and protocols.  

The festival will be conducted in Virtual and Physical format. All COVID-19 related protocols will be strictly enforced as per the festivals convened recently in the International Film Festival circuit, the release said.

Goa CM Pramod Sawant tests positive for COVID-19

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed today that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Informing the same through a tweet, Mr Sawant said, "I wish to inform all that I have been detected COVID19 positive. I am asymptomatic and hence have opted for home isolation. I shall continue to discharge my duties working from home. Those who have come in my close contact are advised to take the necessary precautions."
